I would like for you all to join me in congratulating the Faculty and Staff members of the Month for January. These outstanding team members have gone above and beyond the call of duty for the betterment of our district. If you see them in your hallways or on your campuses please congratulate them.
Secondary Faculty Member of the Month - Congratulations to Mrs. Tiffany Flores, Math Teacher at the High School, for being nominated and selected as the Secondary Faculty Member of the Month. Mrs. Flores is a team player who goes above and beyond for her students. Her passion for teaching is evident by the countless "extra" hours she puts in to ensure the success of her students. She works with the other Algebra 1 teachers to create engaging lessons to enhance the students' learning and build a solid Math foundation. She greets everyone with a smile and her positive attitude is contagious which creates an environment that fosters confidence and success in her students. She has sponsored extra-curricular groups and is always willing to help anyone in times of need. Mrs. Flores is without a doubt an asset to China Spring High School, the district, and our community. So congratulations to Mrs. Tiffany Flores on being selected as the Secondary Faculty Member of the Month.
Elementary Faculty Member of the Month – Congratulations to Mrs. Mandy Shows, Kindergarten Teacher at the Elementary School, on being nominated and selected as the Elementary Faculty Member of the Month. Her principal says, “Mrs. Shows has created an excellent classroom culture in which students are valued members of the classroom community. Her interaction between her students has created an environment that develops students’ academic success.” Mrs. Lucy Petter, reading interventionist, said, “I had the pleasure of pushing into Mrs. Shows’ class last school year to provide several students additional reading support. I was constantly learning things from watching Mrs. Shows interact with her students. Her classroom management allowed her students to learn in many ways while still being effective. This school year, Mrs. Shows has had some difficult behavior issues. She reached out to others and was not afraid to try different methods to allow her students to succeed and flourish in the classroom. Mrs. Shows builds relationships with her students and puts her students and their needs first. She adjusts her teaching methods to whatever they need to set them up for success. In addition, she is a great resource for all of her fellow teachers.” Ms. Rebecca Baker, fellow kindergarten teacher, stated “Mrs. Shows has been the best mentor a teacher could ask for. She is patient, loving and selfless. She anticipates my needs and meets them before I can even ask. She is a team player and an all-around wonderful person. I am so glad Mrs. Shows is my mentor teacher.” Congratulations to Mrs. Shows!
Staff Member of the Month – Congratulations to Mrs. Karen Lovelace, Instructional Aide at the Intermediate School, for being nominated and selected as the Staff Member of the Month. Mrs. Lovelace is a blessing to us! She is always here, always working, always caring. Karen makes her job look easy with her calm demeanor, ready smile, and the special way she works with students under her charge. She is much more than a paraprofessional in the STARS classroom, but is looked at as one of the teachers. Her students can tell no difference. She can constantly be found teaching a small group of students or even working one-on-one with them. Her supervising teacher says “it is imperative that one have a trait of flexibility and firmness intertwined with an ability to laugh and ignore a lot of “quirkiness”. Mrs. Lovelace possesses these characteristics along with many more assets! She has quickly learned the way I think and keeps me organized in so many ways. She truly understands the daily demands of taxing behavior whether they are displayed by the students or the staff working with her.” It takes a special heart to work with her students day in, and day out and Karen has done it with a smile on her face for over 8 years now. She is a vital part to the behavior skills classroom, and to our campus. So congratulations to Karen Lovelace!
