I hope everyone is having a great week! I would like for you all to join me in congratulating the Faculty and Staff members of the Month for March. These outstanding team members have gone above and beyond the call of duty for the betterment of our district. If you see them in your hallways or on your campuses please congratulate them.
Elementary Faculty Member of the Month – Congratulations to Mrs. Carrie Bevins, Third Grade Teacher, on being nominated and selected as Elementary Faculty Member of the Month. One of her assistant principal’s says, “Mrs. Bevins is a true “go-getter”. She is a dedicated team leader for the 3rd grade English, Language Arts, and Reading team, and strives to be excellent in all she does. With the use of the Fountas and Pinnell Balanced Literacy program this year in 3rd grade, Carrie has succeeded in implementing all of the components that she was trained on this year. Her instruction has changed for the better based on professional development she has attended throughout the year. She is one of four inclusion teachers, and she puts the needs of all of her students first, both general education and special education students. She is compassionate, kind-hearted, and always has a smile on her face that brightens the hallways and her classroom every day.” Her team teaching partner in crime, Stacy Dill, said, “Carrie is a great partner to have. She always makes our workday fun and is a true friend I know I can count on. She’s dedicated, organized, and a very hard worker. In addition, she is a real team player and goes above and beyond her regular duties. Carrie is always welcoming to her students by greeting them in the hallway every morning and telling them bye at the end of the day. She is always looking for new ways to connect with every student we have. Carrie truly loves her kids.” Congratulations to Mrs. Bevins. We are so grateful that she is a part of our Elementary!
Secondary Faculty Member of the Month - Congratulations to Mrs. Amy Faulkner, English Teacher at the High School, for being nominated and selected as the Secondary Faculty Member of the Month. Her principal says “Amy has been a great addition to the high school campus. She goes above and beyond for the students of China Spring High School. She works with her students before and after school to ensure their success. Amy has worked collaboratively with the other English teachers to create engaging and innovative lessons for her students. Amy's impact on the high school campus does not stop in the classroom; this year she has been an inspiration as she has battled cancer while continuing to perform her teaching responsibilities at an extremely high level. What is most impressive about Amy is that no matter what is happening she is always upbeat and positive while at work.” Amy Faulkner is selfless and always puts her students’ needs before her own. China Spring High School is a better place because of Amy Faulkner. Congratulations to Mrs. Faulkner!
Staff Member of the Month – Congratulations to Suzanne Frazier, Aide at the Annex Campus, for being nominated and selected as the Staff Member of the Month. Mrs. Frazier was no stranger to the Annex campus when she began this year as a full time employee. She has brightened the demeanor of the staff and overall campus atmosphere this year. Her knowledge and support of the students is uncanny. When she sees or foresees something that needs to be completed, Ms. Frazier jumps in and is on top of the situation many times before any of the rest of us realize we needed to do the task. Most notably is her work with a new program acquired this year, Text Aloud. Purchasing the software to assist with language and vocabulary supports and oral presentation of assignments, Mrs. Frazier has accepted the responsibility of copying the assignments from A+ to a flash drive, downloads into Text Aloud, and has trouble shot each problem that has occurred for a quick and efficient solution. This has been most valuable with the students receiving special services in both DAEP and TAG. Although it may seem minuscule to some, she has relieved Mrs. Brown of the attendance reporting and maintenance as well as ordering lunches for the DAEP students as needed. Basically the daily routine duties necessary to ensure the campus runs smoothly, Mrs. Frazier has accepted the responsibilities and then some. We at the Annex are elated to have her working with us. So congratulations to Suzanne Frazier!
