CX debate advances
to state

Sohpomores Shay Black and Kayla Tull placed second in district 7-3A Cross X debate competition on Feb. 4 at Gatesville High School. They will now advance to state on March 15-16 at the University of Texas in Austin.

35 students
to compete
in art contest

The Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE), a contest for high school artists, will be Saturday, Feb. 20 in Goldthwaite. Thirty-five China Spring students are competing.
Some of these students said that they began their artistic endeavors in school, but others said that they got their start from their parents.
“My mom told me I had talent and bought me a sketchbook,” junior Claire Booker said. “I haven’t stopped doodling since.”

Cheerleaders win national title

The Varsity Cheerleaders are proud to wear their new jackets they
received for winning National Champions at the Cheer Power National
Competition.
“I like performing because I like the adrenaline rush,” senior Lindsay
Allmon said. “I try to stay calm, keep my toes pointed, smile and stay
sharp.”
