I hope everyone is having a great week! I would like for you all to join me in congratulating the Faculty and Staff members of the Month for October. These outstanding team members have gone above and beyond the call of duty for the betterment of our district. If you see them in your hallways or on your campuses please congratulate them. If you have someone you would like to nominate please send those nominations to your principal or myself.
Elementary Faculty Member of the Month – Congratulations to Mrs. Cindy Mayes, 5th Grade Teacher at the Intermediate, on being nominated and selected as the Elementary Faculty Member of the Month. Mrs. Mayes is one of China Spring Intermediate School’s most cheery and pleasant teachers. Her principal says “She never ceases to have a positive attitude, a smile on her face, and the best interest of students on her agenda! She has the task of offering inclusion services along with our Special Education team and has championed for students with special needs as well as all students in her class. She finds ways to engage students through the tasks of reading and is forever seeking ways to improve instruction.” One of the favorite projects that students participate in is the Memory Box project which is a project where she finds ways for each student to find personal success while sharing personal memories. One of her colleagues says “she is someone I have respected over the years for her dedication to all students. This year I have the pleasure of working closely with Mrs. Mayes. I have witnessed the great lengths she goes to connect and educate her students. She maintains the perfect balance of discipline and a caring atmosphere. It is always a joy to be in her room and watch her guide the students to their own learning. She is more than deserving for teacher of the month. So congratulations to Mrs. Cindy Mayes.
Secondary Faculty Member of the Month - Congratulations to Mrs. Shannon Field, Science Teacher at the Middle School, for being nominated and selected as the Secondary Faculty Member of the Month. Mrs. Field goes above and beyond to help her students be successful. She has great rapport with her students and her door is always open every morning to provide additional assistance. Her principal states, “She searches and works to come up with fun and different ways to teach and reteach concepts so that all her students have an opportunity to be successful. She uses everything from Periodic Table Battleship to Element and Compound Learning Centers to ensure that students are engaged while having a good time learning science. She makes learning fun for her students while challenging them to think at high levels. She is a wonderful teammate and incredible colleague to all. She meets regularly to strategize and brainstorm with her fellow science teachers and has helped to create an environment conducive to learning together through Professional Learning Communities.” Her passion for teaching is eminent and the impact she has on the lives of her students is immeasurable. Shannon is always punctual, prepared, and comes to work with a positive attitude every day. Mrs. Field is an incredible educator, an asset to our team, and this honor is long overdue for one of China Spring's finest! Congratulations to Mrs. Shannon Field.
Staff Member of the Month – Congratulations to Mrs. Julie Williams, Registrar at the Elementary School, on being nominated and selected as the staff member of the month. Mrs. Williams is a valuable member of our staff and her positive impact on the school is immeasurable. Whether it is answering the phone, managing activity accounts, printing report cards, checking attendance, giving new parents and students a tour of the campus, or allowing a student to use her “Safe Place” in her office, Julie takes great pride in all that she does. She goes above and beyond what is expected of her at all times. Not only does she complete her assigned job duties, she is willing to help in any and every capacity to ensure our campus is successful. Her principal says “The students love coming in the office to see Mrs. Williams. Of course it doesn’t hurt that she offers them candy from time to time.” Mrs. Williams is a selfless individual who deserves recognition for her efforts and the way she represents China Spring ISD.” So congratulations Mrs. Williams!
