Please join me in congratulating the Faculty and Staff members of the Month for September. These outstanding team members have gone above and beyond the call of duty for the betterment of our district. When you see them in your hallways or on your campuses please congratulate them.
Elementary Faculty Member of the Month – Congratulations to Mrs. Beth Cade, second grade teacher, on being nominated and selected as Elementary Faculty Member of the Month. Assistant Principal, Mr. Gilbert, stated “Mrs. Cade is a phenomenal teacher. She is a dedicated, hard-working ELAR teacher with a passion for teaching students to write. She serves as the second grade ELAR team leader, and leads her team through successful lesson planning and creation of unit assessments each week. Mrs. Cade provides a loving, positive environment for her students every day by welcoming them with a greeting at the door each morning when they arrive. I am extremely proud to have Beth as a member of the China Spring Elementary Team." Two of her grade level teammates, Mrs. Chapman and Mrs. Miles, stated, “Mrs. Cade exemplifies what a true dedicated teacher is. Her passion for teaching is seen daily by her students and 2nd grade team. She is always there for her team professionally and personally, she gives you all the love and support you need to feel truly listened to, and offers the soundest advice. Mrs. Cade is truly an asset to the ELAR team, striving for, and pushing the rigor of the curriculum and making sure every child gets what they need academically and personally. We are truly blessed to have her here at China Spring Elementary and on the 2nd grade team! Thank you Beth for everything!” Congratulations to Mrs. Cade. We are so grateful that she is a part of the elementary school and China Spring ISD!
Secondary Faculty Member of the Month – Congratulations to Mr. Michael Donaldson, Speech and Debate Teacher and UIL Coordinator at the High School, for being nominated and selected as the Secondary Faculty Member of the Month. Mr. Donaldson is always there with a smile to lend a hand or pick up a task that needs tackling. His innovative ideas have promoted student achievement and positive culture in the school. During his first year at CSHS he coached a freshman debate team to State as well as organized the strategic and logistical planning of the UIL district competition that was held at CSHS last spring. Mr. Donaldson has devoted countless hours outside of the school day and school year to provide additional opportunities for student growth and achievement. His passion for students is visible in everything he does. He definitely knows his "why" and embraces it completely. His principal said “Michael is an excellent faculty member and is the definition of a team player. You can 100% absolutely count on Mr. Donaldson for anything and he will do it with a grin on his face.” China Spring High School is lucky to have Mr. Donaldson. So congratulations Mr. Donaldson on being the Secondary Faculty Member of the Month for September!
Staff Member of the Month – Please join me in congratulating Mrs. Kari Espin as Staff Member of the Month for September. Mr. Garn said the following about Kari. I feel she is a very deserving candidate and is a natural leader. As the only Instructional Technologist in our district, it is up to Kari to create and deliver technology training to all faculty and staff. She has been extremely successful in this role, by creating meaningful training sessions for face-to-face training, as well as a whole suite of online training options for our teachers. In addition to the creation and delivery of technology training, Kari excels at managing her schedule to allow time for learning new technology and training styles. She finds time to really listen to teacher needs, and provides them individual attention. Occasionally, we will have a teacher who really wants to implement technology to engage students, but does not know where to start. Kari has proven her ability to observe such a classroom, and provide suggestions that a teacher can utilize right away, instantly increasing student engagement through technology integration. Mr. Ross, Intermediate School Assistant Principal, said “Kari Espin answers the “why” question of our district. Our campus technologist needed some ideas to better teach digital citizenship - Kari was there for her. Our 6th grade teachers needed help creating a more effective documentation system for classroom discipline - Kari delivered the perfect plan for them. Our intermediate content teachers were looking for a creative, technological approach to audio record test questions for some of our diverse learners - Kari is on the job looking for the most comprehensively targeted approach possible. As our why pushes us to personalize student learning experiences and to create rigorously stimulating learning environments that our students cannot stop talking about it, Kari Espin is in the background helping us be the very best we can be for our students and one another. It is this dynamic combination of leadership, aptitude, and work ethic that make Mrs. Kari Espin an excellent Instructional Technologist, and a truly deserving recipient of the Staff Member of the Month honor. Congratulations Kari!
