I would like for you all to join me in congratulating the Faculty and Staff members of the Month for December. These outstanding team members have gone above and beyond the call of duty for the betterment of our district. If you see them in your hallways or on your campuses please congratulate them.
Elementary Faculty Member of the Month – Congratulations to Mrs. Mandy Hoiten for being selected as the Faculty Member of the Month. She is very deserving of this honor. She is her team’s spokesperson, she is our campus cheerleader, and she is always looking for ways to improve our campus culture. She goes above and beyond to take care of those around her, adults and students alike. Mrs. Hoiten even spends quality time with students during a knitting club after school. She does this on her own time with students from all grade levels. This act of placing others needs before hers is just one example of how she is a servant teacher! Carroll Reeser, a coworker, said “After working at the Intermediate School for many years in many positions, we were all thrilled when she obtained her teacher's certification and accepted a job on our campus as a 5th grade science teacher. She stepped into the role as if she had been teaching science for years and her enthusiasm for her job and love for her students is evident on a daily basis. She is an active and involved member of our 5th grade team and she is always looking for ways to make learning fun and exciting for her students. Even before she started teaching, Mandy was always one of the first people to volunteer in any way that she was needed. She has helped in the office, the library, the cafeteria and in classrooms during her free time. Even with the added responsibilities of a teaching position, she continues to help in any capacity she can. She goes above and beyond her required duties on a daily basis and is one of the most selfless and caring people I have had the pleasure to work with.” We are so glad that Mrs. Hoiten is a family member of the China Spring Intermediate School family and a valued member of the district. Congratulations again on being the Elementary Faculty Member of the Month!
Secondary Faculty Member of the Month – Congratulations to Mrs. Odajima on being selected as the Secondary Faculty Member of the Month. Mrs. Odajima excels in making genuine relationships with her students. She gets to know her students as individuals and works hard to plan meaningful ways to make 8th grade English relevant for her students. “Ms. O.” is always encouraging and cheers on her students in school and also at their out of school activities. You can find her everyday each period in the hall with a smile on her face greeting students. She is a leader on our campus and is always willing to help others any way she can. Her positive attitude and work ethic are top notch and she is a true asset to our campus. We are very happy to have her as part of our CSMS family! Congratulations Mrs. Odajima on being the Secondary Faculty Member of the Month.
Staff Member of the Month – Congratulations to Elissa Henderson, a 4th grade Inclusion paraprofessional that has been an amazing addition to the intermediate campus, for being selected as the Staff Member of the Month. Mrs. Henderson is not only an inclusion teacher but our go to team member for class coverage, decorating, tower garden care and just a super joyful happy person to be around. She is dedicated to student growth and feels responsible for each of her student’s emotional and physical well-being. She never shies away from a task and will take on any challenge posed. Her love and concern for others goes beyond the classroom and those around her are blessed by her presence. Mrs. Huskey states “Mrs. Henderson goes above and beyond her job description. She is always there to lend a helping hand. She is a delight to work with because of her positive attitude and the smile she always wears.” Her co-teacher Mr. Anderson states “she keeps him in line and he enjoys working with her daily.” We love having Mrs. Henderson and are so glad she chose us to be her work home. Congratulations on being the Staff member of the Month for December.
