I would like for you all to join me in congratulating the Faculty and Staff members of the Month for May. These outstanding team members have gone above and beyond the call of duty for the betterment of our district. If you see them in your hallways or on your campuses please congratulate them.
Elementary Faculty Member of the Month– Congratulations to Mrs. Lisa Shoots, kindergarten teacher, for being selected as the Faculty Member of the Month. Mrs. Coe, the principal, stated “Lisa is very deserving of this special recognition. She is a kind and compassionate teacher who genuinely cares about her students. She has a heart for children and helps them anyway possible to become successful. Lisa serves as one of the grade level team chairs and does a great job relaying information to her fellow coworkers. Every year she plans, organizes and speaks at kindergarten graduation. Lisa is always eager to do whatever it takes to help her kindergarten team; even if it means staying at school until two o’clock in the morning to prepare, she does it. If an award was handed out to the teacher who worked the most hours, Lisa would definitely be at the top of the list. I appreciate the time and effort she puts into preparing for her students.” Her partner teacher, Mrs. Brown, stated, “Lisa puts so much time into helping her students succeed. Everyone knows if you need something, go and ask Lisa. She is always willing to put in whatever time is needed to get things done. We all know this includes how much time she spends working after school. She is an excellent partner and team leader. ” Congratulations to Mrs. Shoots! We are so grateful that she is a part of our elementary school family!
Staff Member of the Month – Congratulations to Elaine Compian, ISS paraprofessional at the elementary school, for being selected as the Staff Member of the Month for May. Mrs. Coe, principal, stated, “Elaine has worked at the elementary school for 19 years with the last 14 years working in the ISS room. She exhibits endless amounts of patience with students who routinely visit her room. Anytime someone needs assistance with a student, she is quick to volunteer to help out without being asked. Elaine has distinguished herself by always being willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to assist wherever is needed.” Nurse Stone stated, “Elaine is one of the most passionate and compassionate people that I know. She truly cares for the kids who need it the most, and does so with firmness and love. The kids appreciate her honesty, direction, and loving hand in helping them to learn how to cope and to be better people.” Mrs. Bartee, counselor, stated, “Elaine has the heart to love students in spite of their unlovable behavior. She takes the time to build relationships with students after their unacceptable behavior has been disciplined. These students love her in return because they can feel how genuinely she cares.” Elaine has been a big asset to our campus and we have been grateful to have her as part of our team for the past 19 years! She now is moving on to bigger and better things as she is retiring to spend more time as a grandmother. Elaine Compian has definitely made her mark at China Spring Elementary School and she will be missed greatly! Congratulations Mrs. Compian!
Secondary Faculty Member of the Month – Congratulations to Mrs. Meagan Collier on being selected as the Secondary Faculty Member of the Month. Mrs. Collier has taught Honors Algebra II and Honors Geometry for the last two years at China Spring High School. Meagan has a passion for teaching that is evident to everyone that comes in contact with her; this passion was obvious even during a hurricane that caused several disruptions during her online interview with us two summers ago. Mrs. Collier is a team player and is willing to help where there is a need. She was hired to be a Math Interventionist, but due to a last minute change in personnel, she was asked to teach Honors Algebra II and Honors Geometry. Although these were courses that she had never taught before, Mrs. Collier got to work preparing engaging lessons that allowed her students to be successful. She has built positive relationships with her students and can often be seen at events cheering and celebrating their successes. Her ability to reach and connect with her students has not gone unnoticed by parents, as several parents have sent emails bragging about the job Meagan has done for her students. China Spring is lucky to have Mrs. Collier the last two years. Congratulations Mrs. Collier on being the Secondary Faculty Member of the Month for May. (not pictured)
