HAPPENINGS:

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FESTIVITIES:

We have lots of exciting things happening on the last day of school. 6th grade walk will begin our day at 9AM followed immediately by 6th grade's color run. 5th grade's color run will begin at 10:30AM. We will have one lunch on this day from 11:17AM - 11:47AM.

ALL parents are welcome to attend the last day festivities. Our 6th grade parents are welcome to decorate the sidewalk for the 6th grade walk the morning of the walk.

6TH GRADE MIDDLE SCHOOL TOUR:

Our 6th grade students will have the opportunity to visit the middle school as they prepare for the transition to 7th grade on May 12th. This field trip will give students a chance to tour the campus, learn about expectations, and get excited about the next step in their journey. Students will travel to and from the middle school by bus, and no parent volunteers will be needed for this trip.

SPRING ACTIVITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

We’re excited to celebrate our students with our final event, the Summer Fun Field Trip on May 21. This event is designed to reward students and create lasting memories.

Participation is a privilege, and students must meet behavior expectations to attend.

Eligibility requirements begin Monday, March 2 (DAEP expectations apply for the entire spring semester) and remain in effect through each event date.

Summer Fun Field Trip Requirements (May 21):
  • No more than 5 minor referrals

  • No major referrals

  • No days of ISS or OSS

  • No DAEP referrals for the spring semester

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help our students finish the year strong!

DAILY ATTENDANCE:
  • China Spring Intermediate has set a goal to achieve 97% or higher attendance every day. We will be striving for 97% attendance every week this year!

  • Our average attendance this week was 96.21%. We had a small dip in our attendance this week. Let's see if we can reach 97% for our last couple of weeks!

ATTENDANCE REMINDERS:
  • 90% Law ~  The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.

  • Daily attendance ~ Attendance is taken every day at 9:30AM.  Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.

  • When absent ~ Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse).  For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor's note or other formal documentation is required.

    • All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.

    • If your child will not be at school, please let our attendance clerk, Mrs. Fulton, know at afulton@chinaspringisd.net

  • Attendance tracking looks at whole and partial day absences. Partial day absences include arriving at school late or leaving early without a medical excuse or one of the four parent notes for the semester.
