INCLEMENT WEATHER MAKE-UP DAYS: Due to the inclement weather in January, China Spring ISD will use the bad weather days already built into the school calendar to make up missed instruction time. All China Spring ISD campuses will be open, and students are expected to attend school on Friday, April 24th and Friday, May 8th. These days were designated in advance and will now be regular school days to ensure the district meets instructional time requirements set by the Texas Education Agency.
CSE SPRING FOOD DRIVE: Our final campus community service project for this year’s Character Education class is here! From March 16th- April 13th we will be collecting nonperishable food items and snacks to donate to China Spring Cares, providing summer meals for families in need.
Items can be turned in to Ms. Tullos in the Character Education Room. The class from each grade who brings the most items will get to dunk Ms. Tullos and Coach Yose in the dunk tank in May.
THIRD 9-WEEKS REPORT CARDS: Report cards for the third 9-weeks will be posted to PARENT PORTAL by the end of day on Wednesday, March 25th.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES: Friday, March 27th is one of our designated parent-teacher conference days. If you are interested in scheduling a conference with your student’s teacher, please reach out to them directly to schedule a time for that day. If at any time you have questions about your student’s performance please email the teacher and they are happy to collaborate with you.
PTA DINE & DONATE: PTA will be hosting a “Dine and Donate” fundraiser on Tuesday, March 31st at Baskin Robbins in China Spring. Stop in and purchase an ice cream cone anytime between 4:00pm-9:00pm and mention China Spring PTA when ordering (a portion of sales will be generously donated to CS PTA). The class with the most donations will receive an ice cream party from Baskin Robbins!
2ND GRADE EASTER EGG HUNT: We are excited to announce that our 2nd grade students will have an Easter Egg Hunt at school on Thursday, April 2nd.
To ensure a fun and successful event, we ask that each student bring 12 plastic eggs, filled with individually wrapped candy, stickers, or small toys, and securely taped shut. To make the hunt more engaging, please number the eggs from 1-12 using a black marker and underline the number 6 for clarity. Additionally, children should bring a basket or bag from home to collect eggs in during the hunt. Please send in eggs by Monday, March 30th.
While this will be a special event for our students, parents will not be able to attend. If you are unable to send in eggs, please notify your child’s teacher as soon as possible so we can ensure we have enough for everyone.
4TH GRADE “DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS” PERFORMANCE: Our fourth graders will be performing a musical about the great state of Texas on Thursday, April 2nd at China Spring Elementary! The following classes will perform at 5:30pm – Rutherford, K. McNew, C. McNew, Kerr and Robinson. Then, at 7:00pm the following classes will perform – Stewart, Anderson, Fontenot, Garn and Laine. To ensure an efficient testing environment we ask that all students arrive to campus on time (7:55am) and please refrain from checking them out early. Please note visitors, including lunch visitors are not permitted on campus on state testing days.
You can help your child feel calm and confident for the STAAR test by establishing simple routines the night before and the morning of testing. The night before, make sure your child gets plenty of sleep, packs their backpack, and lays out comfortable clothes to reduce morning stress. Encourage a positive mindset and remind them to just do their best. On the morning of the test, provide a healthy breakfast and allow plenty of time to get to school without rushing. A calm start to the day can make a big difference in helping your child feel focused, relaxed, and ready to succeed!
CS EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATE FORUM: The China Spring ISD Education Foundation is hosting a School Board Candidate Forum on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 6:30–8:30pm in the Performing Arts Center at China Spring Middle School. We want the forum to reflect the issues that matter most to our community, so parents and residents are encouraged to submit questions by Friday, March 27. While we may not be able to include every submission, your feedback will help guide the topics discussed. Please note, submissions are anonymous and the survey is not affiliated with any candidate or campaign. 2026 CSISD Education Foundation School Board Candidate Forum.
