Cory Beckham is a 1991 graduate of China Spring High School.  This is his 30th year in education and 4th at China Spring.  Coach Beckham is the head baseball coach and junior high football coach.  Coach is married to Kandace and has a junior daughter at Texas A&M- Braylee.  Son , Cayden is a freshman at China Spring High School. During his time as a coach, Coach Beckham has lead baseball teams to two state tournament appearances, and secured three state championships. He hopes to continue to lead the China Spring Baseball team to more state championship titles. As a coach, he is proud to have been part of the staff during the 2022-23 season when China Spring won both the 4A Football and Baseball State Championships in his first year back at his alma mater.

Contact Kyle Elkins

Coach Kyle Elkins is a China Spring graduate and has been coaching at China Spring for 14 years. He attended Sam Houston State University and currently coaches high school football and track. His wife, Jessica, is also a coach at China Spring, and they have two children. Outside of coaching, he enjoys hunting and fishing. Coach Elkins and his family are proud to be part of the China Spring community.

Avery Fulton is entering his sixth year as an educator and coach. Fulton teaches world geography and serves as the head tennis coach for fall and spring tennis.

Fulton is married to his wife, Taylar, and their daughter Laura Jane is a pre-kindergarten student at China Spring Primary School, and they have a future Cougar, a one-year-old boy named Foster.

Contact Robert Garcia

Coach Robert Garcia is entering his 21st year coaching high school basketball. He has spent 13 years as a head coach, earning three district titles at three different schools, two regional tournament appearances, and three Coach of the Year awards. He is supported by his wife, Meagan, and their three children: Aiden (10th grade), Jaxon (7th grade), and Laney (6th grade). He is excited to be a Cougar and looks forward to the upcoming season.

Contact Cody Harvey

Coach Cody Harvey is entering his 12th year with China Spring ISD. He serves as the middle school coordinator. A graduate of Magnolia High School, he played football and basketball at Mary Hardin-Baylor before serving as a graduate assistant football coach at UMHB and a Sports Performance Intern at Stanford University. Coach Harvey has a master's degree in exercise sports science and is NHSSCA certified. He has been married to his wife, Meghan, for 11 years, and they have two children, Cade (8) and Landri (4). Coach Harvey enjoys spending time on the lake and watching his children compete in various activities.

Contact Ron Burnham

Coach Ron Burnham is a 1992 graduate of Temple High School and a 1996 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. He returns to China Spring ISD, where he has spent 15 of his 28 years in education. Most recently, he was the Athletic Director for Community ISD and previously served as the AD and Head Football Coach at Ore City. He has been married to his wife, Nikki, for 29 years. She is a teacher at Waco High School. They have three daughters: Kylie (25), a teacher pursuing graduate studies at UT-Austin; Katie (23), a recent graduate of UT-Arlington; and Landry (21), a China Spring graduate and senior at Texas Tech University.

Contact Preston Ehler

Coach Preston Ehler is entering his second year at China Spring High School. He previously coached at Giddings for two years and Cameron Yoe for three years. He is a graduate of Rockdale High School and Texas State University. Coach Ehler is the special teams coordinator and defensive ends coach at the high school. Coach Ehler is also the assistant track coach. Coach Ehler is married to Jayci, and they have two children, Hattie (4) and Riley (1). The Ehler family is proud to wear columbia blue and represent the China Spring community!

Contact Hart Hering

Coach Hering is entering his 17th year of coaching, making prior stops at Mineral Wells, Brock, Tyler Lee, and Lindale. Coach Hering started his coaching career at the college level with 7 combined years at McLennan CC, and Tyler JC. Coach Hering will be coaching MS football, MS basketball, and HS baseball. 

A native of Waco, TX, Coach Hering graduated from Waco HS, then attended Texas A&M University graduating in 2006. Lives in China Spring with three children: Holden (18), Hayes (16), and Hannaley (12). Coach Hering is excited to be a part of China Spring ISD.

Contact Wade Morton

Coach Wade Morton has 21 years of coaching experience. He coaches football and golf and previously served as the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach in Meridian, Texas. He has also coached at Waco Connally, Clifton, Riesel, and Normangee. He has been married to his wife, Lindsey, for 24 years, and they have three children, Hannah (22), Noah (16), and Ellie (12).

Contact Zach Quick

Coach Zach Quick is a graduate of Union Grove High School and East Texas Baptist University. This will be his 10th season coaching, and he will be coaching football and basketball at the high school. He spent the past eight years coaching in East Texas, including seven years at Ore City ISD and one year at Waskom ISD. He has been married to his wife, Marybeth, for 11 years, and they have three children: Lilly (6), James (4) and Benjamin (2).

Cody Corntassel is the athletic trainer for China Spring ISD, bringing more than a decade of experience in sports medicine and student-athlete care. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science in education in exercise physiology from Baylor University. Corntassel is both a certified athletic trainer (ATC) and a licensed athletic trainer (LAT), credentials he has maintained for 12 years. Now in his 11th year with China Spring, he is dedicated to keeping athletes safe, healthy and ready to perform at their best.
