Critical Updates

Emergency Procedures

China Spring ISD works closely with federal, state, and local agencies to provide a coordinated response plan to natural and man-made disasters or events that effect school district operations. Should emergency situations occur, such as inclement weather, announcements will be released from the District Communications office. Parent/guardians will be notified by phone, text message, and email.

During emergency conditions such as a lockdown, fire, etc. it may be necessary to close off a campus. The best way for parent/guardians and community members to help support emergency responders as they respond to emergency situations is to refrain from coming to the school. Should school operations be impacted or altered, parent/guardians will receive notification from the District regarding specific actions that may be necessary.

Student/Parent Reunification

Emergency circumstances may occur at the school that require parent/guardians to pick up their students in a formalized, controlled release. This process is called a reunification and may be necessary due to weather, a power outage, hazmat, or if a crisis occurs at the school. Reunification is essential to maintain order and ensure that every student is accounted for and released safely to their parent/guardian. Depending on the emergency circumstance, a reunification may occur at a different location than the school.

Should reunification be necessary, parent/guardians will be notified of the reunification location and instructions for picking up students.

Parent/Guardians Expectations

In times of emergency, the safety of our students is our utmost priority. To ensure a safe and efficient reunification process, we ask for your patience and cooperation.

What to expect:

  1. Notification: Parent/guardians will be informed about the situation and the reunification location through phone, text message, and email.

  2. Arrival at the Reunification Site: Upon arrival, parent/guardians are expected to follow the directions of school staff and emergency personnel. Your cooperation helps us manage the situation effectively and safely for students.

  3. Check-In Process: Parent/guardians will check in at a designated area. All parent/guardians must have a valid photo ID (driver's license, ID card, or military ID) to ensure students are released to authorized parent/guardians.

  4. Departure: After checking in, parent/guardians will receive additional instructions from school staff and emergency personnel at the reunification site for student release and departure.

Important Reminders:

  • Be Patient: The reunification process will take time. Our primary goal is the safety and security of all students and being thorough in the reunification process helps us safely reunite students with their families.

  • Follow Directions: Following instructions provided by school staff and emergency personnel is critical to ensure a safe and efficient reunification process.

  • Stay Informed: Keep an eye on official communication from the District for updates and instructions. Do not rely on unverified sources for information.
