Josh Gregory

Coach Josh Gregory is entering his 25th year in public education. A 1995 graduate of Clifton High School and a 2000 graduate of Lamar University. His coaching experience includes stops at China Spring (2002-16), Round Rock Cedar Ridge (2016-21) and back to China Spring (2021-present).

He and his wife, Amy, a fifth grade teacher at China Spring Intermediate School, have been married for 26 years. They have two children: Tilson, China Spring High School Class of 2022, and Tatum, who is a senior at China Spring High School.

Cory Beckham is a 1991 graduate of China Spring High School.  This is his 30th year in education and 4th at China Spring.  Coach Beckham is the head baseball coach and junior high football coach.  Coach is married to Kandace and has a junior daughter at Texas A&M- Braylee.  Son , Cayden is a freshman at China Spring High School. During his time as a coach, Coach Beckham has lead baseball teams to two state tournament appearances, and secured three state championships. He hopes to continue to lead the China Spring Baseball team to more state championship titles. As a coach, he is proud to have been part of the staff during the 2022-23 season when China Spring won both the 4A Football and Baseball State Championships in his first year back at his alma mater.

Dallas Driskell

Coach Dallas Driskell is entering his second year as the head boys soccer coach at China Spring High School. Prior to joining the Cougar family, Coach Driskell spent three years at Midway coaching both middle school and high school athletics in football, basketball, track and soccer, along with two years as the head soccer coach at Connally High School. He is supported by his wife, Giselle, and their two sons, Leonel and Gabriel. Coach Driskell is excited to be a Cougar and looks forward to the upcoming season.

Kyle Elkins

Coach Kyle Elkins is a China Spring graduate and has been coaching at China Spring for 15 years. He attended Sam Houston State University and currently coaches high school football and track. His wife, Jessica, is also a coach at China Spring, and they have two children. Outside of coaching, he enjoys hunting and fishing. Coach Elkins and his family are proud to be part of the China Spring community.

Avery Fulton

Avery Fulton is entering his seventh year as an educator and coach and fifth year as the head tennis coach. Coach Fulton teaches high school social studies and serves as the head tennis coach for fall and spring tennis for both the high school and middle school campuses.

Coach Fulton was named both the 2024 and 2025 4A Region 3 Coach of the Year. The program has had much success in recent years, including an appearance in the state semifinals in team tennis in 2024, as well as sending 12 players to the spring state tournament in the last three years, including a spring 2024 bronze medalist in mixed doubles.

Avery is married to his wife, Taylar, and their daughter, Laura Jane, is a prekindergarten student at China Spring Primary School. They also have a future Cougar, a 2-year-old boy named Foster. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, attending Wellspring Church and cheering on the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Indianapolis Colts.

Robert Garcia

Coach Robert Garcia is entering his 22nd year coaching high school basketball and is starting his third year at China Spring. He has spent 14 years as a head coach, earning three district titles at three different schools, two regional tournament appearances and three Coach of the Year awards. He is supported by his wife, Meagan, and their three children: Aiden (11th grade), Jaxon (eighth grade) and Laney (seventh grade). He is excited to be a Cougar and looks forward to the upcoming season.

Cody Harvey

Cody Harvey

Coach Cody Harvey is entering his 13th year with China Spring ISD and currently serves as the middle school coordinator. He is a graduate of Magnolia High School and continued his athletic career at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB), where he was a two-year football letterman and also competed in basketball. After graduation, Coach Harvey returned to UMHB as a graduate assistant football coach before completing a sports performance internship at Stanford University.

Prior to his current role, Coach Harvey served as the speed and strength coordinator for China Spring High School while also coaching varsity football. During that time, he was part of two UIL State Football Championships, two regional final appearances and one state semifinal appearance.

Coach Harvey holds a master's degree in exercise and sport science and is a National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA) Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach. He is passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the field and believes athletics provide an opportunity to build character, leadership and lifelong habits that extend far beyond the game.

Coach Harvey and his wife, Meghan, have been married for 13 years and are the proud parents of two children, Cade (10) and Landri (6). Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his family, being on the lake and cheering on his kids as they compete in sports and other activities.

At the heart of Coach Harvey's coaching philosophy is a simple mission: Build Better People Who Make Better Teams.

Tanner Holcomb

Coach Tanner Holcomb has been married to his wife, Kelbi, for seven years, and together they have a 4-year-old son. A proud graduate of China Spring High School, Coach Holcomb earned a Master of Science in kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Coach Holcomb is entering his 13th year in education. Before joining China Spring, he served as the head strength and conditioning coordinator and assistant powerlifting coach at Connally High School. Throughout his career, he has been committed to developing student-athletes by emphasizing strength, speed, discipline, leadership and character both on and off the field.

Coach Wade Morton has 21 years of coaching experience. He is the strength and conditioning coordinator and coaches football at China Spring ISD. Morton previously served as the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach in Meridian, Texas. He has also coached at Waco Connally, Clifton, Riesel, and Normangee. He has been married to his wife, Lindsey, for 24 years, and they have three children, Hannah (22), Noah (16), and Ellie (12).

Coach Issac Brewster-Acosta is a graduate of PSJA North High School and Baylor University. He has been married to his wife, Karsen, for three years. This will be Coach Brewster-Acosta's fourth year in education and his first with China Spring. Coach Brewster-Acosta and his family are excited for the opportunity to be a part of the China Spring family.

Coach Ron Burnham is a 1992 graduate of Temple High School and a 1996 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. He returns to China Spring ISD, where he has spent 16 of his 30 years in education. Most recently, he was the athletic director for Community ISD and previously served as the AD and head football coach at Ore City.

He has been married to his wife, Nikki, for 30 years. She is a teacher at Waco High School. They have three daughters: Kylie (26), a library media specialist at Hutto ISD; Katie (24), who works at Prosperity Bank in Austin; and Landry (22), a China Spring graduate and a recent graduate of Texas Tech University.

Preston Ehler

Coach Preston Ehler is entering his third year at China Spring High School (eighth overall). He previously coached at Giddings (two years) and Cameron Yoe (three years). He is a graduate of Rockdale High School and Texas State University.

Coach Ehler is the special teams coordinator and defensive line coach at the high school. He is also an assistant track coach. Coach Ehler is married to his wife, Jayci, and they currently have two children, Hattie (5 years) and Riley (2 years), with their third child on the way in November.

The Ehler family is proud to wear Columbia and navy and represent the China Spring community.

Hart Hering

Coach Hering is entering his 18th year of coaching, with prior stops at Mineral Wells, Brock, Tyler Lee and Lindale. Coach Hering started his coaching career at the college level with seven combined years at McLennan CC and Tyler JC. Coach Hering will be coaching middle school football, middle school basketball and high school baseball.

A native of Waco, Texas, Coach Hering graduated from Waco High School and then attended Texas A&M University, graduating in 2006. He lives in China Spring with his three children: Holden (19), Hayes (17) and Hannaley (13). Coach Hering is excited to be a part of China Spring ISD.

Coach Seth Kasowski is a 2021 graduate of Bremond High School and a 2024 graduate of East Texas Baptist University. This is his second year in education, and he currently coaches football and track. His fiancée, Lexi, also coaches at China Spring.

Joshua Mauney

Coach Joshua Mauney is entering his first year as a coach and teacher with China Spring. He attended Flagler College, where he played lacrosse, and Liberty University, where he graduated with a degree in social studies education. He is originally from South Florida and recently moved to Texas with his wife, Hope, so she could finish her Ph.D. at Baylor.

At China Spring, Coach Mauney will help coach the defensive line.

Brian Pollard

Coach Brian Pollard is entering his 21st year in public education. A 1999 graduate of Odessa Permian High School and a 2004 graduate of Texas Tech University, he has coached football, track and field, and soccer throughout his career. His coaching experience includes stops at New Deal, Odessa Permian, Midland Lee, Cedar Park and Pieper High School, where he served as defensive coordinator for the past five years.

Coach Pollard is excited to join the China Spring community. He and his wife, Monica, a speech therapist at China Spring Primary School, have been married for 22 years. They have three children: Avery, a student at Texas State University; Maddison, who attends China Spring Middle School; and Mike, who attends China Spring Primary School.

Zach Quick

Coach Zach Quick is a graduate of Union Grove High School and East Texas Baptist University. He is entering his third year at China Spring High School and his 11th year in education and coaching. Prior to joining China Spring, Coach Quick coached at Ore City ISD and Waskom ISD.

At China Spring, Coach Quick serves as the head offensive line coach for the football program and is an assistant coach for the boys basketball program.

Coach Quick and his wife, Marybeth, have been married for 12 years. They are the proud parents of three children: Lilly (7), James (5) and Benjamin (3).

Coach Sebesta is a graduate of Texas City High School and Howard Payne University. He has been married for 19 years to his wife, Lauren. They have two children, Brock and Tori. Coach Sebesta is entering his 24th year in education and is looking forward to working with the football and baseball programs. Coach Sebesta and his family are proud to be a part of the China Spring community.

Jim Woodard

Coach Jim Woodard is a lifelong educator and coach with 20 years of experience in athletics, from the junior high to high school levels. A graduate of Lometa High School, he earned his undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University and then went on to complete a Master of Science degree in sports management from Texas A&M University.

This year, he will be serving as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach and will also be an assistant track coach. He brings a wealth of offensive football experience, including nine years as an offensive coordinator and three years as a head football coach. Throughout his coaching career, he has coached nearly every sport, from junior high to high school, across classifications ranging from 2A to 6A, working with student-athletes to Honor the Past, Maximize the Present and Impact the Future.

He is married to Liz, and they have a 13-year-old son, Henry, who is in the seventh grade.

Cody Corntassel

Cody Corntassel is the athletic trainer for China Spring ISD, bringing more than a decade of experience in sports medicine and student-athlete care. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science in Education in exercise physiology from Baylor University. Corntassel is both a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT), credentials he has maintained for 13 years. Now in his 12th year with China Spring, he is dedicated to keeping athletes safe, healthy and ready to perform at their best.
