All community survey, Shaping the future of china spring ISD together, June 2-15

China Spring ISD is inviting all families, staff and community members to take part in an all community survey open now through June 15. The feedback collected will help guide important decisions that affect the future of the school district.

Like many public school districts in Texas, China Spring ISD is facing financial challenges due to how state funding is structured. Public schools receive funding based on student attendance, not enrollment. This means the district loses funding each time a student is absent. At the same time, the amount of money schools receive per student has not increased since 2019, even though the cost of supplies, utilities and day-to-day operations continues to rise.

Despite these challenges, the district has maintained a long record of strong financial management. For the past 20 years, China Spring ISD has earned an "A" rating under the state's financial accountability system. The district has made efforts to save taxpayer money by paying off bonds early and lowering the tax rate.

The survey also aims to gather input on how the district can continue to support and retain high-quality teachers and staff. While China Spring ISD has introduced programs such as a four-day instructional week, employee-based daycare and performance-based financial incentives, competitive salaries remain a key part of the conversation.

The short, confidential survey is being conducted by an independent research group. Responses from parents, staff and community members will help the district understand what matters most to the people we serve.

All Community Survey

The survey is open through June 15. All community members are encouraged to take the survey and share it with at least five family members, friends and neighbors to ensure a range of voices are heard.
