All China Spring ISD Families and Staff,
As we enter winter weather season, we want to remind families and staff how decisions are made if school needs to be delayed or closed due to weather.
When inclement weather is predicted, the decision to delay or cancel school is based on a careful review of all available information at the time. The superintendent, deputy superintendent, and assistant superintendent personally drive roads throughout the district as early as 4:00 am to check conditions. Decisions are not based on temperature, but on icy or unsafe road conditions that could make travel dangerous.
If school is delayed or closed, parents and staff will be notified by phone call, text message, and email. Updates will also be posted on the district website, the official China Spring ISD Facebook page, and shared with local news media.
If you do not receive a message from China Spring ISD, school is open and operating on a normal schedule.
Student and staff safety is always our top priority. We understand that school closures can create challenges for families, including childcare needs. Because of this, canceling school is an exception, and we make every effort to keep schools open whenever it is safe to do so.
Thank you for your partnership and continued support.
Best,
China Spring ISD Administration Team
