The first day of school 2026-27 school year is Monday, August 3.
Whether your family is new to China Spring ISD or returning for another year, there is plenty to prepare before the first day of school. From back-to-school events and school supply lists to bus routes and registration resources, this guide brings together the information families need to start the school year with confidence.
Registration:
All families must register for the upcoming school year through Parent Portal. Step-by-step instructions can be found on the China Spring ISD registration website.
To register, your child must live within the China Spring ISD boundaries. To find out which school district your address is in, visit the Texas Education Agency's School District Locator.

Students are encouraged to bring their school supplies to Meet the Teacher events. Thumbs Up Thursday shirts will be available for purchase at the events. Shirts are $15, cash or check only.

China Spring Middle School
There are not any specific school supplies that students need in advance of the first day with exception to paper and pen/pencil. Each teacher will provide a syllabus with required items for their class.
Schedule Pick-Up & Campus Walkthrough: Thursday, July 30: 4:00-6:00 pm
This is a come and go event designed for students to pick-up schedules and locate classrooms before the first day of school. Note, teachers will not be present during this event.

China Spring High School
China Spring High School does not have a scheduled in-person registration event.
Preliminary class schedules are available for pick-up at the China Spring High School front office Thursday, July 30: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
*To receive a class schedule, families must complete the registration process and submit all required documents, including proof of residency, through Parent Portal.

Athletics and Band: Required UIL Forms and Athletic Physicals
The Rank One portal is now open for the 2026-27 school year. All seventh through 12th grade students who plan to participate in China Spring ISD athletics and/or band must have the required UIL paperwork and a current athletic physical submitted through Rank One by August 1.
Rank One is an online portal used by China Spring ISD Athletics and Band to manage student activity information, including required UIL forms, physicals and other participation documents. All parents of students participating in athletics and/or band must create a Rank One account using a valid email address.
