Students from China Spring High School provided a unique "dinner theatre" presentation for trustees and attendees. Culinary arts students prepared and served appetizers while choir students performed selections from their spring show. Theatre students also presented a scene from the One Act Play, "Rikr," which recently placed first at the district competition. The showcase highlighted the range of talent across the district's Career and Technical Education and fine arts programs.

The board also received an update on the district's approval to participate in the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program through the Texas Education Agency. In the first year of participation, 46 China Spring ISD teachers are expected to earn a designation. More than $600,000 in state funding is expected to be generated for TIA allotments; 90% of the funds will go to the educators who are expected to earn a designation and 10% will be used by the district to cover TRS benefits and fees for the designated teachers.

School Board Vice President Jeff Bradburn emphasized the impact of the program, stating, "That's a big deal, that's $600,000 in teachers' pockets. Our teachers are getting paid and they will be getting that for the next five years."
